Velosipedska News #12 - Return of the Sprinter

Written by Velosipedska at 13:28 18/9-2020

Greetings to fans, press and other readers. Today we have a press release with less race news and more rider news. A few great teammates have left the team in order to make room for a new generation. Also Metodija Aksentiev has returned from his holiday. Let’s get right to it.

  ---TEAM NEWS---
Velosipedska is glad to announce a partnership with Vlaanderen Physics. We will be able to use their facilities to improve our time trial abilities. No riders are currently scheduled for a wind tunnel test, but Riste and Jordan are the main candidates for this training at the moment.
We are also about to enter a partnership with Easy On Health Products. This time there won’t be a financial impulse, but the company will provide free products for our team. An improved product line to guarantee the rider’s health and safety is sure to boost morale the next few weeks. The partnership is set to start next tuesday, and last for the remainder of season 54.

Summary of our economic position this season:
   Income
   -------------------
   Starting Balance: 199,144
   Funding: 0,-
   Rider Sales: 126,220
   Prize Money: 36,000
   Jobs: 32,000
   Sponsors: 70,000
   Merchandise: 12,796
   Expenses
   -------------------
   Team Upgrades: 25,000
   Supplies: 9,600
   Staff: 0,-
   Scouting: 13,000
   Rider Hires: 73,721
   Training: 313,650
   Net Balance
   -------------------
   41,189

  ---RIDER NEWS---
Metodija Aksentiev has returned from his holiday and resumed training. Metodija feels completely recharged and is ready for the next challenge. The first few races he will try his best, but in some cases Vladimir Gavalovski might be our main sprinter, until Metodija’s race shape is good enough. We wish Metodija all the best!
To accommodate for new blood, 4 of our valued teammates have left the team. All 4 of them were founding members, and we will remember them fondly.

Metodije Idrizi has raced 42 races for the team. He was also part of the squad that helped Riste Nikolovski gain the first jersey, the YC in the Odyssey of the Oryx.
Besart Alomerovic has raced 42 races for the team, his highlight was a solid 3d place at Beg Minsk CBGP. He’s also had 2 top 9 finishes.
Arben Curlinov has raced 48 races for the team. He was also part of the squad that helped Riste Nikolovski gain the first jersey, the YC in the Odyssey of the Oryx.
Vasil Trickovski has raced 48 races for the team, his highlight was a 5th place at Critérium Rossmore.

All of these riders were also active in the Macedonian cycling community. None of them were ever more than teammates for other riders, but together they represented an income of 118k in work done outside of racing. Velosipedska are grateful for everything these riders did on and off the road.

Lastly, Jordan Spirkoski has almost finished his training program. After some solid sessions in the mountains, we are working with Jordan on flatter terrain, perhaps there’s some room to work on his technical skills and his time trial. The team is happy with how Jordan has performed so far, he will be an important teammate for Riste, and perhaps he will get his own chance to go for youth classifications.

  ---RACE NEWS---
There hasn’t been much important race news during Metodija’s holiday. Riste Nikolovski and Vladimir Gavalovski have picked up a few top 10 places at Canmore - Takkakaw Falls, Hopetoun - Rainbow and San Fernando. Unfortunately Riste had an off day at the Makedonium Memorial Race, our home climbing race. He had hoped to perform in front of a home crowd, but after last year’s 4th place he had to settle for 15th. The next couple of races will be Festival de Jinotega and Kota Bahru - Kuala Terengganu, where Riste and Metodija finished 8th and 3d last year. Metodija will try to get back to winning ways over the next few weeks, Riste still has his sights on Oryx.

Kind regards and thanks for reading,
  KrMees (Manager)
  Vujadin Mileski (PR)
